Good afternoon, fellow Princesses!  And an excellent afternoon it is, I must say.  Thank you to Princess Tilly for hosting our little tea party in her lovely Cotswold cottage.  Beautiful sense of decoration Tilly, just beautiful.

Today I am thrilled to tell you about the castle we will be researching.  I know each of you will simply swoon when you see the details, so let’s get on with it, shall we?

Eastnor Castle

Hertfordshire, where they grow those tasty little cows

Sweeping vistas, 5,000 acres of forest lands and gardens, a lake, and a fairy tale castle – what more could we ask for?  Eastnor is fit for a royal wedding, although it is not an ancient family seat.  Building was begun in 1810, but I believe you will see that the utmost care was taken to provide a truly magnificent home utilizing the very best of architectural traditions from our ancestors.

Twelve beautifully appointed suites are available for the wedding party, and it’s conveniently located a mere two hour motor from London’s city center.  The ceremony can be held inside the exquisite library if we keep the guest list to around eighty family and and close friends.  Anything beyond that and we will need to move to the lawn or the lower terrace.

Oh yes, they can provide fireworks after the ceremony, but I think that’s a bit bougeois, don’t you?

Catering must be provided from outside, but I’ve found a lovely place nearby with great experience serving guests at the castle – The Vinehouse.  Let’s peruse their menu selections now.  Tally Ho!

You’ll be delighted to know that Vinehouse attempts to use as much locally sourced product as possible, so I believe we can expect fabulous favor and quality.  Why, one could dine solely on the canapes – just look at what they offer!

Now that I’ve whet your appetites, let’s get down to the onerous business of pricing.  I know, as Princesses we shouldn’t worry our heads about such trivialities.  But in this economy, we must be sensitive to what our subjects are thinking.  The venue hires for £7780.00.  Room hire for £250 each and include breakfast and for dancing on the upstairs balcony, £1038.00.  Fireworks, food, and service gratuities, as well as flowers are booked separately.  I find that reasonable for such an enchanting location!

So here here, let’s all summarize our notes for today.  I believe we will find ourselves in quite a quandry before this is all over.  But what fun!

Until next week ladies – and tea will be at Mildred’s mother’s home across the way.  Since her mother is somewhat under the weather, we will accommodate her and hold our meeting there.  Same time!  Cheerio!

Celebrating Fairy Tale weddings and tea!
